Excellent conclusion, and well-written too. Eklund is indeed the Weekly World News of the blogging world. He's not a journalist, nor is he a blogger who expresses his/her own opinions; rather, he's a rumor-regurgitator (or rumor-inventor) whom one should look to for entertainment purposes only.

Dark Ranger-

Just spoke with our Hockey Rabbi, who asked me to inform you that he is on the road & not sure when he will have computer access. As for the help you requested- I checked out this little war your'e involved in, & all I can say is that you shouldn't be wasting your time talking with fans of teams that didn't even qualify for the playoffs last year. They are beneath us.

Solid stuff Rabbi. When I bother to read Eklund, I do so solely for the limited "entertainment value" of his "scoops". I do not know of one REAL hockey fan who views Eklund as anything more than a glorified rumor monger.

Thanks MOSS...good advice. At the time, was looking for a good supporting potshot.

By the way, great article on the difference between blogging and reporting. You could take a position that even some of the mainstream media networks could be considered bloggers...Fox news - I would consider blogging because it leans to a certain viewpoint. BBC or CBC - I would consider reporting.

The lines have crossed into every inch of free speech -- and most importantly, hockey speech. Ecklund is a radical, the Michael Moore of hockey -- which I consider a good thing as he is one more blogger keeping our interests at a peak (even in August). He is dramatic. You need a little drama to stir up reality once in a while.

Thanks for the earlier response as well.
